The tribe

Tribe noun \ ˈtrīb \

: a group of persons having a common character, occupation, or interest

My community. My people. My tribe.

When I was brainstorming ideas for a team name for rideATAXIA Dallas 2019 I wanted to be inclusive of my friends, family, and others around me. I am the one who has the illness but it affects every person in your life as well. My favorite bible verse is Psalms 91:4 hence the feathers and I knew I wanted to incorporate it in my team some how.

As I sat outside in my backyard with my mom, and 2 sisters, we put our heads together and worked as a team. A tribe. We came up with the idea of a dreamcatcher which used the feather and then Madelyn's Tribe was born.

My tribe is so much more than just my people. It is a community of support, a circle of love, and a ring of positivity.
